Community Legal Centres NSW made a submission on gender undervaluation to the Fair Work Commission on 28 May 2025.
The community legal sector is a highly feminised, underpaid and underemployed workforce.
Our submission argues that the Fair Work Commission should ensure no Community Legal Centre worker’s wages are decreased as a result of the Award review.
It also concludes that the Fair Work Commission should agree with the Australian Services Union’s proposal that Schedules B and C should be paused, and that current rates be maintained while an improved, fit-for-purpose classification structure is developed for the community sector.
